The Growthmodo Honour Code
Our word should be worth more than a contract clause.
The Growthmodo Honour Code defines the standards we expect from ourselves when working with clients, partners, customers and each other.
These commitments apply whether anyone is watching or not.
Honour Code principles
01 We Tell the Truth
We will not knowingly fabricate results, case studies, testimonials, data or capabilities.
We will not make unsuccessful work look successful by selectively presenting information.
If we do not know something, we will say that we do not know.
02 We Do Not Hide Bad News
Clients should hear important problems from us, not discover them later.
If performance deteriorates, an experiment fails, tracking breaks or we make a meaningful mistake, we communicate it.
We bring the problem, what we know and what we intend to do next.
03 We Never Manipulate the Measurement
We do not change definitions, attribution windows, reporting periods or success metrics simply to make our work appear more successful.
The rules for measuring success should be understood before the result is known.
04 We Do Not Claim What We Did Not Create
We take credit for our contribution and nothing more.
If a result was created by the client's product, media team, brand, pricing, another partner or market conditions, we acknowledge it.
05 We Protect Confidential Information
What a client shares with Growthmodo stays protected.
We do not disclose confidential strategies, customer information, account data, credentials, commercial information or proprietary materials without permission.
Access is a privilege, not ownership.
06 We Do Not Hold Clients Hostage
A client should never remain with Growthmodo because their data, knowledge or assets are trapped with us.
Where reasonably possible, clients retain access to the work, information and systems they are entitled to receive.
We want relationships to continue because we create value.
07 We Do Not Sacrifice Trust for Conversion
We will not knowingly recommend deceptive claims, false urgency, fake scarcity, hidden charges or misleading customer experiences simply because they may increase conversion.
A conversion obtained by destroying trust is expensive revenue.
08 We Disclose Conflicts
If a commercial relationship, incentive or other interest could materially affect our recommendation, we disclose it.
Our advice should serve the client's objective, not a hidden incentive.
09 We Respect Experiments
We do not declare winners because we prefer a design.
We do not quietly stop losing tests and celebrate winning ones.
We evaluate experiments against agreed metrics, sufficient evidence and real commercial outcomes.
An inconclusive result is an acceptable result.
10 We Take Responsibility
We do not hide behind departments, tools, vendors or job titles.
If Growthmodo owns the work, Growthmodo owns the responsibility.
We fix what we can fix.
We explain what we cannot.
And we learn from both.
Our Commitment
We expect clients to challenge us when our actions fall short of this code.
Growthmodo should earn trust repeatedly through its decisions, its work and its conduct.
- No invented wins.
- No hidden failures.
- No manipulated numbers.
- No shortcuts with trust.
That is the standard.
